Forensic Science

Forensic evidence is one of the most powerful tools in the investigation and prosecution of crime. Yet, following the 2009 release of the National Academy of Sciences landmark report assessing the state of the field, there has been widespread recognition of significant problems and challenges regarding forensic evidence. LJAF’s work focuses on reforms that can have a substantial, practical impact on the way this evidence is collected in the field, analyzed in labs, and used in criminal proceedings.
